Important Notice concerning restrictions to the consumer credit activity of Koto Card Limited (trading as The Credit Thing).

Koto Card Limited (‘Koto’, ‘we’) has voluntarily applied to the Financial Conduct Authority (‘FCA’) for the FCA to impose requirements in relation to the permission KCL holds to conduct its consumer credit activity.

Under these requirements, Koto may not:

(i)enter into any new regulated credit agreements with customers; or

(ii)vary any existing regulated credit agreement with customers in a way which has the effect of increasing credit limits available to customers under its existing agreements

without the FCA’s prior agreement.

Over this period we will focus on ensuring that we can secure the funding we need to resume lending and that we can demonstrate we have strong systems and controls for assessing the creditworthiness of customers and preventing financial crime.

This notice is published under the terms of the requirements. Full information may be seen on Koto’s entry on the FCA Register (https://register.fca.org.uk/s/firm?id=0010X00004D9SAxQAN).

If you wish to apply for The Credit Thing e-money card (issued byPrePay Technologies Limited (‘PPS’)), you can still do so through The Credit Thing app. The Credit Thing e-money card does not have a credit facility attached to it.

PPS is separately authorised by the FCA for the issue of electronic money and the provision of payment services. Koto is an agent for PPS.
